MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014 is the biggest event of this month for mobile lovers and Sony is all set to show their next flagship device, Xperia Z2 there with another device. The device has already appeared at different places using the codename “Sirius” and we have some rumors, speculations and some cool, blurry, leaked Xperia Z2 images found on a Chinese forum Digi-Woo and Xperia Blog for you while you are waiting for the smartphone to unveil at MWC 2014. It will be interesting to see how Xperia Z2 competes with the upcoming LG G3 and HTC M8 once it’s unveiled at the MWC 2014.
Design & Specs
The handset is expected to feature a big 5.2-inch display, which is slightly bigger than the 5-inch Xperia Z2. However, if the blurry, leaked Xperia Z2 images we saw recently are real, the upcoming flagship device from Sony will be bezel-free and feature almost a stunning edgeless display. It is a dream of every mobile user to have a big smartphone that comes with less things surrounding that big screen and looks like Sony is about to offer a smartphone just like that. The 5.2-inch display comes with 506 ppi and a smashing 2k screen (2560×1440 resolution) which is an upgrade from the Xperia Z1’s 441 ppi display with full HD.

To run this big 2k screen, the device will come with the same 2.3GHz quad-core processor from the Xperia Z1 and Z1 compact. However, rumors from another source suggest that we can also hope for a powerful octa-core chip inside the next smartphone so we’ll have to wait to confirm which rumor is true. If you are not happy with the news of the same quad-core processor, you might be happy to know that the upcoming smartphone will come with 3GB RAM inside.
Sony has been always popular for their cameras included on its phones and they have managed to protect this popularity successfully so far. But this time, they are going to go with the same 20.7-megapixel camera for Z2 that we saw in the Z1. This is not really a bad news cause the camera will come with a Xenon flash instead off LED which means we can expect to see more natural shots. 20.7-megapixel camera may not be a big thing for Z1 to Z2 but it is a big thing compared to other smartphones from different companies.

Operating System & New Features
Unlike other recently announced smartphones, Xperia X2 is expected to launch with Jelly Bean 4.3 according to the recently leaked screenshots instead of Android 4.4. However, some new screenshots that reveals a large number of new features suggest that we can also expect to get KitKat out-of-the-box. The list of new features include amazing 4k video recording, double tapping to wake, two homescreen launchers instead of one, different camera modes like timeshift video, background defocus and new ‘smart’ controls. The new ‘smart’ control allows you to reject calls by shaking it, answer calls by bringing it close to your ear, silent the ringer by flipping the smartphone. So, design-wise and feature-wise, we can expect to see a completely new phone comparing to Xperia Z2. We don’t know if these leaked Xperia Z2 specs are real or not but we don’t have to wait for long to find out.
The smartphone is expected to come with Google’s latest mobile platform but it will be surely customized with Sony’s own interface. The battery will be also increased to 3700mAh from 3000mAh which is a big boost. However, you might not see any difference because of the extra resolution and more RAM. There’s also a way to check all the new features of this smartphone by accessing the ‘What’s New’ option which can be found in the same way we access Google Now. These are all the leaked Xperia Z2 specs we have got so far.

This comparison is based on leaked Xperia Z2 specs so nothing is concrete yet.
