Samsung is a popular name among Android lovers and their Galaxy S lineup is always competing for the top smartphone’s position. One of the big events for smartphones is around the corner and it’s time to talk about the next big thing from Samsung, the Galaxy S5. Samsung has already started to send invites to its first and big Unpacked event where the upcoming flagship device will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 24 so we are here to present all the Galaxy S5 rumors and everything related to it. There’s a large number of Galaxy S5 rumors and leaks so it won’t be tough to wait for the big launch event coming this month. However, with highly anticipated gadgets come plenty of rumors so it can be difficult to understand which one is real and which one is just a fantasy. It would be better if you take these rumors with a little bit of salt.
Design and Specs
According to three difference sources, Samsung is planning to go with a 5.2-inch display for their upcoming smartphone. The rumor sounds positive as its only 0.2-inch larger than the Galaxy S4 and it will be even better if the smartphone features on-screen buttons. The phone’s size will remain the same as Galaxy S4 this way and we will get a smarter phone size-wise. There is a rumor about the screen resolution that says the company is planning a huge 2560×1440 pixels for their flagship device. However, The New York Times believes this is not true and the upcoming will feature a 1080p display. Most of the smartphones are trying to reach the 2K resolution display nowadays so we are not sure who to believe here.
Samsung has a large history of using glossy plastic back covers which is easy to handle but looks cheap. So, if you are not happy with this back cover, you will be happy to hear the next rumor. The Galaxy S5 is expected to come in two different versions, one with partly metal finishing and one with the same old plastic. The metallic one will offer a more premium look so it will be interesting to see how the upcoming device actually looks once the device is out. We don’t have any leaked Galaxy S5 images yet so these rumors are the only thing that can help us to imagine what the device might look like.

Now let’s take a look at the rumored Galaxy S5 specs. We have been hearing for a while that Samsung and Qualcomm is working on something together so we can expect to see the latest Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor on the upcoming flagship device. It will be backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is another rumor suggesting a big 64-bit chip called Exynos 6. The first r umor sounds realistic so we can look forward to see a phone with Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.5GHz. These hardware will be packed with 2900mAh juice pack which can be charged fully in just two hours.
The Galaxy S5 is expected to feature a big 16-megapixel camera which is an improvement from the Galaxy S4’s 13-megapixel one. It is also suggested that the camera will feature Samsung’s latest ISOCELL technology that can improve low-light photography. However, the front camera doesn’t offer any major change. It may be changed to 3.2-megapixels with some slight improvements in the quality. The 3.2-megapixel doesn’t sound too weird to believe so we are expecting to see a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 3.2-megapixel rear camera in the upcoming smartphone.
Operating System & Other Features
The Unpacked event teaser has already showed us a glimpse of the UI that will be featured in the Galaxy S5.
